Hello Zero Wasters fam,
I hope you all are doing well and staying safe and inside! What a crazy world we are living in these days. I just miss the summer days where I could just go to the beach, having a barbecue with friends and family, or even going out for a run in the woods. These days I embrace my little grocery trips as that's my only time out of home. Well, we can't deny the fact that shopping for essentials carry that extra risk. It is completely unavoidable to shop essentials. We need to be super careful while shopping, so I thought to jot down some ways to practice hygienic shopping methods.
Firstly, see if your grocery store if you try to make sure to stay at least six feet away from others, and yes, that includes the front line workers. If you have questions make sure you're still maintaining a safe distance.
After you are done shopping, try keeping your purchase at a safe, cool and dry space like your garage. If there's any virus, it will be killed in about three days time. If you don't have time, no problem try having a pot full of warm water mixed with vinegar and salt. And rinse everything in the mixture, you can keep everything on a towel and towel dry it before it enters your pantry.
This will ensure all bacteria and impurities are killed, and is overall a good practice to follow especially in this new normal.
